After the World Cup final game of 1994 (Brazil vs. Italy – Brazil won), the riot police gathered in a few stategic places in Montreal's Little Italy, in anticipation of a riot. Many carloads of Brazilians showed up, but as far as I could see, it never went beyond good-natured Latin-blooded taunting and bravado. Everybody had a good laugh at the cops, who eventually packed up and left, red-faced.
